ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Ken Guidroz
Director of New Plan Design

Ken Guidroz is the Director of New Plan Design at FuturePlan, the leading Cash Balance design firm and TPA in the country.
He speaks nationally to investment professionals, CEOs, CPAs, Medical Groups, and Law Firms.
He is the co-founder of Cash Balance Coach, the national Cash Balance credentialing program for financial advisors. He also co-authored the go-to book on Cash Balance, called Beyond the 401(k).
He received his MBA from Pepperdine in 1995 and has designed Cash Balance Plans for almost 20 years.

Karen is a retirement consultant and credentialed actuary with 32 years of experience in the pension industry. Karen’s career focus has been in retirement actuarial consulting and she regularly consults with clients on their pension and retirement programs.
Prior to joining Gallagher in 2010 through a predecessor company acquired by Gallagher in 2016, Karen was a principal and senior consultant with Mercer, serving as a member of the national Actuarial Resource Network and completing a rotation as the Market Operations Leader for San Francisco.
Karen has extensive expertise in retirement plan valuations, plan design and administration. She has helped clients with plan design, complex discrimination testing, financial asset/liability modeling, de-risking activities such as lump sum windows and plan termninations, spinoffs, mergers and acquisitions. She is also a key member of the law firm specialty practice group within Gallagher’s service model.
Karen is active in the Western Pension and Benefits Council, having served as president of the San Francisco chapter and currently chairs the Western Benefit Conference committee of the Governing Board and is a San Francisco board member.
Karen earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Notre Dame.
